Trump Responds To Communism In New York — He Is Furious

President Trump delivered a fiery speech at the American Business Forum in Miami, drawing sharp battlelines between his administration and what he called the “extremist left” now leading America’s largest city.
“Remember, I’ve said, ‘We will never have a socialist elected to any post in our country?’” Trump told the crowd. “I used to say that, and I was right. We skipped socialists and we put in a communist instead.”
His remarks came just one day after Zohran Mamdani, a self-identified communist, was elected mayor of New York City — a stunning shift that Trump said symbolizes the left’s descent into radicalism.
“After last night’s results, the decision facing all Americans could not be more clear,” he said. “We have a choice between communism and common sense. Does that make sense to you? Common sense. It’s common sense or communism.”
Trump then laid out his vision for the coming midterm elections, contrasting what he described as the GOP’s record of achievement with the chaos he said Democrats continue to spread.
“Our opponents are offering an economic nightmare. We are delivering an economic miracle,” Trump said. “We have delivered, in nine months, this is an economic – the biggest investment of funds in a country in history by many times.”
He listed off priorities that draw a stark contrast between the two parties.
“They want higher spending for government and illegal aliens. We want bigger paychecks for American workers and American families. And that’s what we’re delivering,” he said.
“They stand for crime and chaos and corruption, we stand for law and order and justice. Also, strong borders. Boy, do we have strong borders.”
“They put America last, we put America first.”
The president’s tone grew even sharper as he promised to defend the nation against what he called a “communist invasion” of American politics.
“As long as I am in the White House, the United States is not going communist in any way, shape, or form,” Trump said. “We’re gonna stop this nonsense.”
He referenced New York’s recent election results, describing them as a warning sign for the rest of the country.
“You know, I said they were voting last night. You could have a communist or a thug, and they took the communist. It’s pretty amazing,” Trump said. “We could have done a little better in terms of candidates.”
Behind Trump’s words was a clear strategy — to make the Democrats’ embrace of figures like Mamdani a central theme heading into the 2026 elections. GOP strategists see the radical turn in New York as a defining contrast they can use to rally voters across the nation.
The concern isn’t only coming from conservatives. A centrist Democrat group called Third Way released a memo warning their own party that Mamdani is “politically toxic” and that his policies “are deeply unpopular in the red and purple places Democrats must win” in the next election cycle.
The new mayor’s rise has already caused panic among national Democrats, many of whom fear his open admiration for Marxist ideology could drag the party even further to the left.
But for Trump, the message was simpler and more defiant. He said the upcoming elections are not just about politics — they are about saving America itself.
“This is a fight between communism and common sense,” he said. “And we’re going to win.”
As the crowd roared, Trump promised that under his leadership, America’s values, freedom, and prosperity will never fall to the ideology now taking hold in New York.
