By now, we all know the United States is in crisis, particularly regarding what is happening at our southern border. Well, it finally appears that liberal “sanctuary” states are realizing that somewhat.
Welcome to Massachusetts, a state that, since former President Donald Trump attempted to close our borders and enforce immigration laws, has said it would vow to offer sanctuary and protection from the evil orange man.
However, saying they will do such and actually doing it are apparently two very different things.
As you know, migrants coming from our very porous southern border have already made their way into almost every state in the Union. According to reports, Massachusetts has gained about 6,000 immigrant families thus far.
And that is apparently far too many for the state to handle – so much so, in fact, that state leadership is declaring an “emergency” and calling in the cavalry.
According to Democratic Governor Maura Healey and a Thursday news release from her office, “Massachusetts is in a state of emergency, and we need all hands-on-deck to meet this moment and ensure families have access to safe shelter and basic services.”
To do so, she has called in Major General Gary W. Keefe, adjutant general of the Massachusetts National Guard, and 250 of his troops.
What those troops will do to “help those in need” has not been fully explained.
Like most liberal states, Massachusetts regularly parades the notion that open borders are good and that more migrants in the US are something to be proud of. And yet, when they face even the smallest of realities, there is suddenly a problem.
Perhaps some of that problem is because the state, like most, is ill-equipped to handle the influx of migrants crossing the border, whether legally or illegally, into the US. They say they want more immigrants and yet have done nothing to prepare for more physically living in their communities, neighborhoods, and states.
Isn’t that just like a Democrat…
