As I am sure you know, former President Donald Trump is knee-high in troubled legal waters, including a federal case claiming that he played a criminal role in the January 6, 2021, incursion of the Capitol building. And that case supposedly just got harder for him as he claims Liz Cheney has successfully sabotaged him.
According to Trump, he has always been innocent. He claims he was within his rights as sitting president to encourage a protest. But he also claims that he made provisions so that should such a protest get out of hand, as it did, the Capitol and those who work within it would be safe.
Specifically, the former president says that he offered to send 10,000 National Guardsmen to the Capitol during that time. But he also says that then-Speaker of the House and soon-to-be chairwoman for the committee investigating the January 6 incursion, Nancy Pelosi, turned down his offer.
Evidence of his offer and its supposed denial was said to be included in the many documents and information the aforementioned Pelosi-led committee had on hand.
And yet, now, no one can seem to find it.
According to Trump, this is no accident. Instead blame falls directly at former Wyoming Republican and Representative Liz Cheney. If you remember, she was one of only two GOP members offered a seat on the infamous committee, as she was and still is clearly anti-Trump.
Trump now claims that Cheney destroyed such documents and proof, effectively sabotaging his case against special prosecutor Jack Smith.
He said as much in a recent post to his Truth Social account.
“THIS ACT OF EXTREME SABOTAGE MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR MY LAWYERS TO PROPERLY PREPARE FOR, AND PRESENT, A PROPER DEFENSE OF THEIR CLIENT, ME. All of the information on Crazy Nancy Pelosi turning down 10,000 soldiers that I offered to guard the Capitol Building, and beyond, is gone.”
Of course, Cheney says she did no such thing and that Trump knows it.

Needless to say, it’s turned into a “he said, she said” argument that will likely only be hammered out in court – and in a trial that could be Trump’s undoing.
