If you thought the investigation into former President Donald Trump’s supposed Russian collusion and his 2016 presidential campaign was done and over with, think again.

Well, to be clear, it is done now. But it just ended on Monday.

If you weren’t aware, Special Counsel John Durham has been looking into how the Department of Justice and FBI went after Trump and his 2016 campaign for a while now – since 2019, in fact.

But now, he has finished. And as such, his report on his findings was released on Monday.

It’s more than a bit damning to the political left and the “deep state” who sought to wrongly oust Trump.

According to Durham, it may have been plausible for the DOJ and FBI to investigate Trump based on the accusations against him. But it doesn’t mean that it was legal.

In fact, Durham’s report indicates that the whole investigation was unfounded. And not just because the Steele dossier Hillary Clinton and her cohorts devised was a fake. Instead, Durham concluded that neither the FBI nor the DOJ had substantial evidence or reasoning to even open the investigation into Trump.

“In particular, there was a significant reliance on investigative leads provided or funded (directly or indirectly) by Trump’s political opponents.”

Additionally, Durham says that neither the DOJ nor the FBI seemed to properly “examine or question these materials and the motivations of those providing them, even when at about the same time the Director of the FBI and others learned of significant and potentially contrary intelligence.”

Naturally, Trump is overjoyed about the report.

In his response to Durham’s investigation, he noted, “There must be a heavy price to pay for putting our country through this.”

And he couldn’t be more right.
