Kanye West shocked the country when he announced that he’s running for president in 2020. He’s a little late to the game, but it has everyone talking.
Most people who don’t know him would assume that he’s a liberal and would be a Democratic hopeful.
Kanye is a man of the GOP. He has said that he would run as a Republican if Trump wasn’t the GOP candidate. He also has great respect for Trump, and the two of them have created a friendship over the years.
Although he may be a little late to the party, he’s all in. He’s filing as an independent and has already missed deadlines for quite a few states, including big ones like Texas and North Carolina. There are also fast approaching deadlines for even more states.
The independent party he’s created: the birthday party. As he explains it, “if we win, it’s everybody’s birthday.”
Why is Kanye West running? The list could go on forever. However, he has lost some confidence in Trump. Though, he still says that “Trump is the closest president we’ve had in years to allowing God to still be a part of the conversation.”
West has taken some heat for entering the race, trying to split the vote. It’s kind of like how Ross Perot helped to get Bill Clinton into office many years ago.
Kanye could split the vote to get more votes away from Biden – it ensures that people who want to vote Republican but refuse to vote for Trump would have an option.
West is not a Democrat. He has openly spoken against Planned Parenthood. He also says that Dems have gotten into the habit of threatening him and people like him.
“I was threatened as a Black man into the Democratic Party. And that’s what the Democrats are doing, emotionally, to my people. Threatening them to the point where this white man can tell a black man if you don’t vote for me, you’re not black.”
Kanye isn’t the only one who has felt this way recently, either. Many black people have spoken out about Biden’s comment on not being black if they don’t vote for him. Who does he think he is, anyway?
Kanye, who has recently begun going by “Ye” on Twitter and in person, could really shake things up within the General Election. If he acts quickly, he can be on the ballots as an independent for November in most states.
In order to gain ballot access, he’ll also need tens of thousands of signatures from every state. He’s Kanye, so that shouldn’t be a problem. He’s also got Elon Musk behind him – but he’ll need a campaign infrastructure in place fast.
His political views are all Republican – he’s pro-life, against the death penalty, and believes in the importance of religion. He would like to bring prayer back to school. He wants to end police brutality.
Kanye West may be taking a lot of heat from the Dems right now, but it’s because they’re scared. Does West have a chance of actually winning the presidency? Probably not.
He’d be missing out on over 150 votes in the Electoral College if he can’t get on the ballots of some of the states with upcoming deadlines for independents.
What West would do is give people another viable option. You don’t like Trump? Vote West. You don’t like Biden? Vote West. As West pulls votes away from Biden, those inadvertently go to Trump in the end. T
oo many people don’t like Biden’s current view as they feel that the VP thinks he has black people in his pocket.
Kanye West is smart. He may be a rapper who tends to be a bit crazy in the media, but he’s also a billionaire. You don’t earn that kind of money by accident.
He’s a man of the GOP, and he’ll make sure that the right party stays in control following the November elections.
