Sanctuary cities that found themselves opening their doors to illegal immigrants as President Joe Biden got the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to move them there are now finding out just how horrible an idea this was. For years cities like Martha’s Vineyard, Chicago, Washington DC, and NYC have been clamoring at the border towns to welcome the illegals with open arms. Telling them that they could make it better with love and support as they jump the fence to come here.
Now they have gotten a small taste of border life and they realize just how horrible many of these illegal immigrants can be.
Three illegal aliens from Colombia — 20-year-old Brayan Alexis Ortiz-Ramos, 30-year-old Daniel Esteban Jimenez-Carrillo, and 33-year-old Gersson Jhoan Hernandez-Gomez are all facing a litany of charges following their spree.
With second-degree burglary as a hate crime and conspiracy being among the charges after they targeted 20-30 homes in Indian American neighborhoods on Long Island, NY they have already shown their true colors. A fourth suspect remains free. 20-year-old Justin Mora-Soto was born in the U.S. but has spent much of his life in Colombia where his wife and children still live.
The ties between these four to South American gangs are relatively well established in court documents and had it not been for Biden’s policies these four would have likely never met. Coming from different countries and being picked up at different points along the border, these four have had very separate paths that have led them here, but once put together they became a vehicle of pure evil.
Between the sanctuary cities mindset that plagues many non-border cities and New York’s latest “No Bail” policies, this is a recipe for disaster. Mora-Soto was previously arrested and charged with second-degree menacing and criminal possession of a weapon back on September 15. That no-bail law let him go free in just a matter of hours, and he was a no-show for his court case.
For the Indian American families terrorized by this group, no number of messages about how poor their home countries are or how bad off these boys’ lives are should matter. The Indian Americans have faced many problems back in India, and here in the US. From discrimination to hate crimes.
They have been in the battle themselves, and in recent years have become truly neighbors with those around them. Now they are right back in the hate-crime days, and it’s all because of leftist policies. Policies that make absolutely no sense and treat American citizens like we are the problem.
With the influx of illegal immigrants getting free passage across the US and being set up in a city with everything they need until they can get an asylum hearing and likely be allowed to stay provided, they haven’t been in serious trouble. The policies of NY could make it impossible to bring them to trial, and they can easily skip town before anyone can do anything with them. For their victims, this means no justice, and nothing being done to repay them for their losses. Instead, it falls on their insurance policies, many of which won’t cover robberies under certain circumstances or when the total is too high.
Currently, these policies might as well have open borders with how quickly these illegals are being handed the keys to America. They have failed the Indian Americans on Long Island, numerous robbery victims in Chicago, and people murdered in DC. They have failed the people along the southern border who have dealt with all of this and more daily for generations.
It has also failed those who chose to immigrate here legally and become citizens. Instead, it sends the message that they wasted their time, money, and efforts. They should have just snuck across and claimed asylum. It would have been easier and cheaper to get to the same goal.
